This book is good for anyone ages 14-18. Written by Debra Garfinkle, who is also the author of The Band: Trading Guys. The Band: Holding On is the second book following the band Amber Road. I read this one without reading the first one and had no problems, so if you didn’t read the first one, you won’t be too lost in this one. It is a quick read and keeps your attention throughout the entire book.
The rock band Amber Road is hoping to make it big but will conflict within the group keep them down? Mark, the founder of the band dumped band mate Sienna to date lead singer Lily and it puts a little strain on the band. Sienna is forced to deal with Lily and Mark and her best friend Tracie, who is always causing drama and needing Sienna to save her from everything. But when Sienna and Tracie’s ex, Carter, fall for each other will it be the end of their friendship?
The book mixes relationship drama with the drama and sacrifices required to make it big in the music industry. You can read as Amber Road struggles to make peace within the band and struggle to do what it takes to make it into the music business. The book is a decent read and I would suggest it to anyone looking for something quick and entertaining to read.
