Carol Snow has done it again with her book, Getting Warmer. This book is an entertaining must read for anyone ages 18 and over!
Natalie Quackenbush is a thirty year old, underpaid teacher who lives with her parents. And she is up to her eyeballs in debt. In order to make her life more interesting, she goes out with her best friend Jill and they have a little creative fun. Hitting the bars, they have a different story every night. They entertain themselves by making themselves sound more entertaining, and sometimes they get a few free drinks out of the deal.
When Natalie finally meets a man she finally likes, she is so used to making up stories about who she is that she can’t help but do the same with him. She soon finds herself trapped by all the lies she has told and vows almost daily to tell him the truth, but never does. While dealing with all of this, she gets stuck helping with her schools drama program and while doing so finds out that one of her students can barely read. She decides to devote extra time to help him because she sees potential.
When her sister finds out she is pregnant her parents decide to move back east and she is left to look for a new place to live. When she begins to receive disgusting things from a student, she begins to think about quiting teaching and moving back east with her parents. The icing on the cake happens when her boyfriend finds out that she has been lying about everything and he ends things.
Will Natalie get her life back and decide to stay in Arizona on her own? Or will she follow her parents and continue to rely on them. You’ll have to read it to find out!!
