Indigo Skye feels like her life is perfect. She has an incredible boyfriend, a job that she is great at and that she loves, and a loving family. She is more than happy with the idea of spending her life as a waitress, even if her mother dreams of her going to college. However, everything in Indigo’s life changes one day and its all because of a little tip.
Well, I guess 2.5 million dollars isn’t a little tip, but everyone keeps acting like its going to change everything and Indigo just doesn’t agree. She thinks it will make life easier and knows that money will never change her. After trying to give the money back, Indigo decides that it is time to start enjoying the money. But she soon starts fighting with her boyfriend and her mother seems to be more stressed out instead of less. Finally Indigo can’t take it anymore so she heads to California with the friend Melanie, who is more than happy to stick Indigo with the bill for a few things.
Once in California Indigo realizes that she missed home and her old self more than anything and that California and the life of the rich are not her thing. Will she be able to patch things up with everyone back home? What will she do with the money? You’ll have to pick up this great book by Deb Caletti to find out! This book was different then the books I have been reading lately, which seem to be geared towards more of a middle school age. I thought this book was funny and a very easy book to get into.
