1. Hollywood is Like High School With Money by Zoey Dean:  Navigating the Hollywood world is a lot like trying to make it through high school!I really enjoyed this book! I read it while laying out and it definitely made the time fly!  Look for the review here at By the Book Reviews on August 3rd!

I love love LOVE the Morganville Vampire series and this book has to be without a doubt one of my favorites. I would recommend this book for anyone ages 13 and older!

Summer is over and that means that Raven must go back to school and leave the arms of her love, Alexander. Luckily for him, he won’t have much time to miss her now that his parents have decided to drop in to Dullsville. Raven begins to worry as everyone seems to be meeting his parents except her and fears that her love is hiding something. Unfortunately it is not the something that she thinks. His parents have decided to sell the mansion where Alexander lives and move the whole family back to Romania. Raven is crushed at the prospect of losing her true love and they come up with a plan to keep the mansion off the market, but will it back fire?

By far my favorite of the Vampire Kisses series! Good for anyone ages 12 and older!I can’t wait for the next one!

Summer is here and Raven should stay in Dullsville until Alexander comes back. But Raven has never been one to do what she should and so she goes to stay with her aunt. By doing this she can be close to Alexander and she can sneak visits into her favorite club, The Coffin Club. But as she sneaks around, she discovers that the Coffin Club is a lot more than she ever could have imagined. As troubles start to mount at the Club, Raven gets more and more involved in something that is more dangerous then she realized.  As the club grows torn between her old enemy a mystery guy, Raven may face immortality sooner than she imagined.

This book was a lot better than all that came before it and I find myself getting more caught up in Raven’s crazy adventures with every page. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Raven and Alexander’s relationship is way more than complicated. Because of who Alexander is, they are only able to see each at night, which is often hard for Raven, who has school and has her parents to answer to. Now that Alexander’s enemy, Jagger and his sister Luna are in town, they must be extra careful in their nightly meetings. As Luna decides to go after Raven’s nemesis Trevor, things get even more tricky and Raven and Alexander have a lot of work to do in order to save Dullsville.

I never thought I would like the Vampire Kisses series as much as I actually do. I thought it would be too young for me but the books have turned into easy and entertainingly fun reads. These books are great for anyone who loves vampires (although they give in to more of the traditional myths then books such as Twilight) or the reluctant reader. Definitely check this series out this summer, it’s great for anyone ages 12 and up!

Kyra has spent her entire 13 years of life in an isolated community and hasn’t questioned any of the rules or the beliefs that have been pushed on her. She hasn’t questioned the belief that men must have multiple wives and countless children. Why would she when she herself is one of 21 children and her father has three wives. The only thing she has ever done that she wasn’t supposed to was read books, lots of books and meet secretly with the boy she loves.  Unfortunately, she will never get to be with him because the Prophet has decided that she has to marry a man who is 60 years old and allows happens to be her uncle and who already has six wives. Kyra must figure out a way to escape before she gets hurt or worse, gets forced into a marriage she doesn’t want.

This book tells a tragic story that is all too real for some people. This story is one that I would recommend to all my friends!

3.      The Real Real by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus: What could be better than reality tv drama? I sure can’t think of much…

4.      How to Be Popular by Meg Cabot: Wanna be popular when you go back to school in the fall? Check this book out and you may decide that you like your life just the way it is! (check out the full review that was featured in January ’09)

Raven has to find Alexander, who she knows is her true love. But the task seems to be a lot harder than she had originally anticipated. She already knows that he is a vampire and she doesn’t understand why they can’t be together. But thinks are a lot more complicated then she realizes and when she finds Alexander things are nothing like she had imagined.

Book 2 in the Vampire Kisses Series, Kissing Coffins is a great follow-up and is full of suspense and drama. This is a great book for anyone and I don’t see how anyone could not get sucked into the story!
