Alyson Noel stunned me once again with her book, Saving Zoe. I have read books by Alyson Noel before, but this is by far my favorite. I would recommend it for anyone over 16.
Echo’s world was shattered when her sister, Zoe, was murdered a year ago. Now she must deal with her parents, who don’t seem to care about anything, and the awkwardness of freshman year of high school. When Marc, Zoe’s former boyfriend, gives her Zoe’s diary she thinks she knows everything there was to know about her sister. Once she starts reading it, however, she realized that she knew almost nothing. Now, as she gets deeper and deeper into the diary she starts to feel more and more like Zoe but also finds out more and more about herself. Will she be able to uncover the truth about her sister and find herself in the process?
It’s hard not to get sucked in as you laugh with Echo’s first boyfriend problems and even harder when you cry at the issues she must confront as she learns more and more about her sister. This book has become one of my favorites of all time!
