chelseamakela.jpgThe new movie Dance Flick starring Chelsea Makela has just recently hit theaters. It is definitely an awesome movie if you’re into getting laughs off of mockery of other movies such as Step Up, Save the Last Dance, and a little bit of Twilight. In this film Chelsea plays a comedic role. Teen Scene had the opportunity to talk to Chelsea recently and asked her if she planned to stick to the comedy genre, “I love comedy; there's nothing better than being able to laugh for a living and make others laugh. However, I'm very excited to get the opportunity to do dramatic acting, I think that can be just as exciting as comedy and I love it as well!”

Chelsea says that she loved the dance rehearsals while making the film, “that was one of my favorite parts of making the movie, as well as the actual shooting of the film and being able to learn from the Wayans.” Along with her awesome dance moves she loves the acting just as much. Her two role models were Meryl Streep and Leonardo Dicaprio. She describes the movie being a spoof on other movies as well as having an awesomely written script. When asked if her favorite part of acting in the movie was to get into the character and become someone else she responded, “Yes, it's so much fun to be able to step into someone else's story and life for a day. I love the playfulness of it and the creativity it brings out.”

Her advice to her fans or anyone trying to follow the actor/ actress dream is to, “Be yourself. Bring what you have to Hollywood that makes you unique, don't try to be something you're not, and have fun with it."
