Consider Independent PDF Print E-mail
Written by Brenda Hillegas

paranormalactivity.jpgIndependent movies- they aren't big blockbusters. They don't play at every single movie theater in your town. Unless they get noticed by someone in Hollywood who puts a lot of money into letting the rest of the world know about the flick, you may not even hear about some of them. If you have heard of some, though, maybe you're against seeing one of them because of the label "independent." Hopefully, that's not the case. Indie films are unique, creative, and one of a kind. They'll keep you thinking (unpredictability is a great quality for a film). With 2009 ending, if you still haven't picked your best movie of the year, here are a few that you may or may not heard of. All worth checking out, of course. Hey, I bet your favorite actors started out in films like these.

13 Reasons Twilight is Hot PDF Print E-mail
Written by Brittany O'Neill

twilight1.jpgComparable in many ways to the fan favorite, Harry Potter series, Twilight has managed to captivate an immense, dedicated audience, and has done so quickly. The first of the Twilight saga, Twilight, was published in 2005; three years later, Stephanie Meyers finished the Twilight saga, completing four novels- Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Stephanie Meyers' saga has sold its translation rights in 39 countries and has sold over 42 million copies worldwide.  Because of the quick attachment viewers made to this series, the novel Twilight was soon made into a film and released on November 21, 2008 starring Kristen Stewart as the leading lady of Bella Swan, alongside Robert Pattinson as the role of Edward Cullen. Twilight has obviously taken a place in the heart of many readers and will undoubtedly continue to remain a noteable series for years to come.  What is very impressive is that Twilight was the first novel written by Stephanie Meyers yet was an instant success, comparable to To Kill a Mockingbird which was the first, and only book, published by Nelle Harper Lee.  How has Stephanie managed to captivate such a large audience so quickly?  What interests readers most about her series?
