Rock and Roll Couples PDF Print E-mail

elvisrocknroll.jpgMost people are curious about one celebrity couple or another. You root for them to make it, and you mourn with them when it falls apart. Some of the best couples for this are often the Rock and Roll ones. They seem to have some of the most volatile relationships, and being able to see them succeed is even more exciting. Whether they made it or not, certain Rock and Roll couples will always stay with us. Elvis Presley was the King of Rock and Roll, so obviously his relationship with Priscilla would be seen as one of the ultimate Rock and Roll pairs. The two were married in 1976, and ultimately divorced in 1972. Though their marriage didn’t make it, the two are still lumped together as if nothing ever happened. A product of their marriage, Lisa Marie, has also had a Rock and Roll relationship worth mentioning. For around two years, she was married to singer Michael Jackson. Unlike her parents, however, this wasn’t a relationship most people would note in a positive light.

courtneykurt.jpgWhen two self-destructive individuals meet each other, a relationship might form. This is true when it comes to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and his wife, Courtney Love. Even during their time together, the two were never fully well. Cobain was treated for heroin abuse soon before his daughter, Frances Bean, was born, and Love was admitted for an overdose around the time Cobain took his life. The relationship might not have been the most stable, but Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love would definitely fall under one type of the Rock and Roll couple.

Sometimes one person can be a part of more than one Rock and Roll couple. Such a person is Pattie Boyd, who was the first wife of George Harrison and whom eventually went on to marry Eric Clapton.  In 2007, Boyd even released a book titled Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me. Such hits as The Beatle’s “Something” and Eric Clapton’s “Layla” are credited to have been written about Boyd.

A lot of the biggest Rock and Roll couples ultimately didn’t make it, but it’s not true for all of them. One such example would be musician Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon. They’ve gone through many years and even a reality show about their life, to make it through intact. As proven above, no matter what the outcome, people will always be enthralled by Rock and Roll couples.
