As An Internet Entrepreneur PDF Print E-mail

kinkarso.jpgWhile tech savvy teenagers aren’t hard to come by, 16-year-old Donny Ouyang already has four years of experience as an internet entrepreneur under his belt. Armed with “a borrowed HTML text book, a computer, and a whole lot of passion,” the then 12-year-old worked for nine months to create his first ever website which he sold for just two hundred dollars.

“There's an old Chinese saying that goes something like this: ‘The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed,’” he says, admitting that $200 isn’t a lot of money for almost a year of work. Eventually, however, he managed to turn the money he earned into $2,000, which was then turned into $20,000. “It just kept on growing and growing till this day,” he says. Continuously working on a number of active websites, he made the decision to arrange them under the Kinkarso.com network which in the following year became a registered network known today as Kinkarso Tech Limited. While his network remains small, Donny operates a number of online websites such as DigitalThrone.com and BattleForums.com.

Despite his young age, Donny’s wisdom seems to go beyond the realms of the Internet and computers. “Entrepreneurship, I believe, is not a magical gift given to only a select few. You don't need to be a certain age to be successful. You don't need to have the right connections. Heck, you don't even need any start-up capital,” he tells Teen Scene.

Working as a project manager, website developer, Internet marketer, and website broker according to his ‘About Me’ on the DigitalThrone.com site, Donny has a lot of advice to offer teens looking to follow in his foot steps. “Networking is the key to success. Although hard work is extremely important, without outside help, you're just a big fish in a small pond. Create relationships, find a mentor, develop a partnership to launch your business forward,” he advises.

“With the right help, some hard work, and enough diligence to never give up, you are well on your way to success; not only financial wise, but also in life,” he adds. With an annual salary of $78,000, Donny has proven that age is nothing but a number and with a strong enough drive, anything is possible.
