While on the way to Walt Disney World driving along the interstate in 2007, Dave and his family got caught up in a police chase. He said “we were driving along interstate 4 when out of nowhere this car zoomed past us going at least 120 miles per hour. We tried to ignore what had just happened and continued driving” But this holiday was about to turn into the vacation from hell. “Suddenly out of nowhere 4 police cars zoomed passed us and slammed their breaks on.”Without time to think David went for his breaks too but not being used to American cars there wasn’t enough time. He hit the police car and the Windsor’s car turned upside down within a matter of seconds.

“Abbey was an incredibly courageous girl, the ability to get out of the car and try and save her mom’s life is something to be truly admired. Despite her desperation to get her mother out of the car, she was too late. She broke down into tears. I broke down into tears. All I could do was hug Abbey. Being only 14 at the time and watching your mom pass away isn’t the vacation any of us had in mind.” Abbey says, “everyone was really nice when I went back to school but at the end of the day they couldn’t bring back what I had lost.” It’s not just the people who were actually in the car that have to survive a car crash. There is also the people who lose somebody they love in a car accident and don’t find out about it until the police knock on their door to deliver the news that is going to change their life. Mother of two Lesley, lost her eldest daughter Sarah 22, in a collision on her way to work one morning. "Every mother dreads that knock on the door to tell you that you are never going to see your baby again. Not a day goes by when I don’t wonder if I had delayed her going out of the house for a minute, she might still be here."
