Special Feature - Best Travel Spots
One of the best things about the Summer, besides the warm weather and no school, is having time to travel. The following is a list of five great travel spots with plenty to do for young adults.

Buenos Aires, Argentina: Ok, I'm a little biased because my mother is from Buenos Aires, but it is a truly amazing city. Beautiful people with even more beautiful accents, delicious food; what more could you ask for in a Summer vacation? Of course the only downside of going to Buenos Aires in the Summer is that it is winter there, but because of that, it is not too difficult to find reasonably priced tickets. You will also save money once you get there because of the exchange rate. It's a good thing too because there is some great shopping, especially for shoes. And, because the styles come from Europe, they get the latest fashions before us, so when you come home you'll be ahead of the game for back to school clothes. Not only are the clothes European, but so is the lifestyle. People eat dinner at ten and go out after that, so the nightlife is always jumping. There are plenty of clubs ("boliches") for young adults that stay open until six in the morning. Another must see is a tango show. Tango is one of the sexiest dances, and you haven't seen tango until you've seen it in Buenos Aires. For such a show, I recommend Café Tortoni.

If you are into skiing, you might want to save time during your stay for a trip to Bariloche, one of the more popular tourist destinations in Argentina. It is a tradition for high school seniors to make a trip to Bariloche before they graduate, so you're likely to see a lot of teenagers.
London's "Underground" subway

London, England: London is my favorite city in the world. They have everything there - museums, good shopping, theatre, and they speak English, so you won't have to worry about a language barrier. Although it is very expensive, especially when converting dollars to pounds, there are quite a few ways to save money. Most of the museums are free and it doesn't cost anything to walk around and just take in the sights (Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, you know, all the places you've seen on TV and in history books). Another good way to save money is to stay away from the more touristy areas for dining and shopping. There are so many places to go out at night but if you stick to West End you're likely to see a lot of Americans and the prices will reflect the central location. For a more authentic night life try Old Street on the northern line.
A view of Eilat

Eilat, Israel: Israel is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and it's so small that if you are making a trip there, you might as well see everything, but make sure that one of your stops is Eilat. Eilat is located at the southern tip of Israel and is perfect for anyone looking for a beach vacation. What is interesting about this city is that it's right along the Red Sea coast, but also in the Negev desert. Because of the unique location, you can do everything from lounging on the beach to hiking in the desert to swimming with dolphins to camel tours. The nightlife has everything from low key bars to discos.
Disneyland celebrates its 50th Anniversary

Disneyland: It's not the most exotic travel destination, but it's the happiest place on Earth, and this Summer they are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the theme park so it's a great time to go. There are new parades and shows to commemorate this event. There is also a new Buzz Lightyear ride and Space Mountain, which has been closed for a year, will be re-opening in July. Disneyland brings out the kid in everyone and it's a perfect place to go with your family or friends, or both. There are always plenty of young crowds at Disneyland, especially in Downtown Disney. And Club Buzz in Tomorrowland always has bands playing. In terms of places to stay, there are three Disneyland hotels - the Grand Californian, the Disneyland hotel, and Disney's Paradise Pier hotel, but there are plenty of cheaper hotels nearby, such as the Best Western and the Jolly Roger.

Backpacking through Europe: Traveling from one country to another within Europe is so cheap that once you are there, you might as well take advantage. Internet airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet usually have great deals. I flew from London to Stockholm practically for free, paying only the taxes on the ticket. Just make sure you do your research before you go, so you can take the best route for you and also have an idea of safe places to stay. There are plenty of youth friendly hostels, but some are more reliable than others, so check out some updated guidebooks and ask friends who may have traveled to these places before. Some cities I recommend seeing are Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Salzburg, where you can do the Sound of Music tour. For planning a trip like this, Triple A is very helpful with recommendations.

Good luck on your adventures! Be sure to check back this Fall for our new travel section under 'Real Life' where we will be giving you in-depth reviews of the best places to visit.
